A Conversation with Chris Luebkeman

Part I: Now, New, Next, and Change
(Running time: 10:03)

Chris Luebkeman works with and speaks to management teams around the globe. He helps segment business issues into the timeframes they will have impact: The now, new or next. The "now are the decisions that we do today." The "new is 3-5 years away." The "next is over the horizon." Chris helps think about the context of change. He argues that there are three global contexts that are important to consider: the wealth gap, the dependence on the carbon chain and capitalism. He also believes that there are two kinds of change, "big step change that most executives are looking for," but as important, incremental change that over time, amounts to substantial results. Innovation, for example, needs to have "that bit of freedom to make some moves that are unexpected" and incremental.
